Magic Gaming’s ‘HBCU 2K Classic’ Tournament Spotlights Students of HBCUs From Across the Country

ORLANDO – This past week, Magic Gaming wrapped up its first annual HBCU 2K Classic, an NBA 2K tournament dedicated to spotlighting some of the most prestigious Historically Black Colleges & Universities from across the country while giving their students the opportunity to compete for a free trip to Orlando, Florida to tour the Magic Gaming Studio and attend an Orlando Magic basketball game.

In collaboration with the Black Collegiate Gaming Association (BCGA), the HBCU 2K Classic featured student representatives from various HBCUs including Florida Memorial University, Morgan State University, and Winston-Salem State University.

The tournament featured school-specific qualifier tournaments throughout the month of November, with the finals taking place on December 3rd. During the finals, each student competed in a round-robin style elimination round to determine the Championship match.

Ultimately, Denari Sanders of Winston-Salem State University came out on top after a close 63-62 victory in the Championship match. Denari will receive a free trip to Orlando, Florida for a tour of the Magic Gaming Studio, as well as attend the Orlando Magic’s HBCU night in February.
