Magic Gaming Recap vs. 76ers GC

Magic Gaming reeled off four straight wins after the last time it made some lineup changes. In an effort to regain some of that swagger and throw off Friday’s opponent, 76ers GC, the Magic decided to shake up the lineup again.

Although it’s just a one-game sample, the latest alterations didn’t have the same effect. Magic Gaming, despite trailing by just one after the first quarter, struggled to slow down the 76ers’ potent offensive attack in an 87-47 loss.

The Magic experimented with a backcourt of Emmanuel “UCMANNY” Cruz, who played point guard for the first time this season, and Christopher “KontruL” Cantrell, who slid over to the shooting guard spot. The two forwards also altered their archetypes, as Cameron “KingCamRoyalty” Ford played the three and Bilal “SUPREME PULLER” Almashni moved to the four.

A promising start, particularly from UCMANNY who scored seven straight points for the Magic during the opening six minutes, pumped in some early momentum.

Shortly later, though, the 76ers went on a tear, scoring 21 unanswered points including 16 straight to end the first half.

Antonio “Newdini” Newman, who drilled a clutch 3-pointer against the Magic when these two teams matched up during the Tip-Off Tournament, erupted for 34 points.

Magic Gaming will look to bounce back next week when it takes on Kings Guard Gaming, a team it defeated in the opening round of THE TURN. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, June 29.
