Magic Gaming Finishes Season With Win Over Celtics Crossover Gaming

Magic Gaming will likely be receiving thank-you cards in the mail from Wizards District Gaming, which secured its postseason spot thanks to its new best friends from nearly 850 miles away.

The Wizards, from wherever they tuned in, may have even started reciting the lyrics to some of their favorite Disney songs when Emmanuel “UCMANNY” Cruz buried a 3-point dagger with just under two minutes left in the Magic’s 81-68 victory over Celtics Crossover Gaming.

Although its loss earlier in the day to Cavs Legion GC knocked them out of postseason contention and despite having the same 8-6 record as four of the teams who did advance, Magic Gaming was delighted to play a big role in determining the final playoff picture.

Defeating an opponent who was in a win-or-go-home situation like the Celtics was a fitting way to cap off its incredible turnaround this season.

“Everybody on this team has a lot of pride,” said Magic forward Bilal “SUPREME PULLER” Almashni, who scored 14 points in the season finale. “We’re all very confident. We all said we just wanted to win this game, even though we were not going to make the playoffs.”

SUPREME PULLER got the Magic off to a roaring start by throwing down a thunderous, posterizing dunk shortly after the opening tip. Even after the Celtics rallied from a double-digit deficit and captured the lead in the third quarter, the always-composed Magic settled down and reclaimed momentum.

UCMANNY came alive late, scoring 14 of the Magic’s final 18 points, and Jorge “marley213s” Renteria delivered arguably his best performance of the year with 17 points and 22 rebounds. Christopher “KontruL” Cantrell, in more of a scoring role, also had one of his finest games, finishing with 25 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the floor.

Considering the Magic were at one point ranked last in the Power Rankings, ending the season with a win and above .500 is worth celebrating and being proud about.

“Our team really believed in one another that we could be a top contender,” SUPREME PULLER said. “Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the playoffs. We kicked it to high gear halfway through the season. It’s definitely a told-you-so moment, though, proving all the doubters wrong when they had us written off.”

The Wizards, thanks to the Magic, will take on 76ers GC in the First Round of the playoffs. The other matchups include: Blazer5 vs. Knicks, Raptors vs. Cavs and Pistons vs. Heat.
