Magic Gaming Falls to Grizz Gaming

Magic Gaming’s playoff chances took a big hit after dropping the first of their final two regular season games.

Despite a strong fourth quarter from Daniel “DT” Tlais, who scored 10 of his game-high 21 points in that final frame, the Magic were unable to overcome a sluggish first half in their 58-45 loss to Grizz Gaming on Thursday.

Tied at nine after the first quarter, the Grizzlies went on a 17-3 run to start the second period. During that stretch, the Magic missed five of their six shot attempts and committed three turnovers.

The Magic pulled within five early in the fourth when DT drilled one of his four 3-pointers. He hit another jumper a couple minutes later to keep the game within striking distance before the Grizzlies ended the contest on a 10-4 run.

MVP candidate Brendan “Reizey” Hill posted 13 points, three rebounds and six assists for the Magic, who shot 47.4 percent from the field but only made six of their 14 3-point attempts.

Cameron “KingCamRoyalty” Ford, the league leader in field goal percentage, registered six points, 12 rebounds and three steals.

The Grizzlies out-rebounded the Magic 26-15, with Mehyar “AuthenticAfrican” Ahmed-Hassan recording 17 of those boards.

Former Magic player Mykel “KelMav” Wilson, whom the Grizzlies acquired in a trade earlier in the season from Orlando, tallied 14 points, while Zach “Vandi” Vandivier scored 19.

The Magic will take on Wizards District Gaming at 9 p.m. ET.
