Magic Gaming Completes Two-Game Sweep With Win Over Wolves

Magic Gaming headed into this week determined to turn their season around.

Mission accomplished.

Daniel “DT” Tlais delivered his second straight sensational performance as Magic Gaming stormed past T-Wolves Gaming for a 58-47 victory on Wednesday night.

After helping the Magic (2-2) secure their first victory of the season just hours earlier with a game-clinching block against Knicks Gaming, DT turned up the heat on the offensive end, erupting for a game-high 22 points in their win over the T-Wolves (1-3).

“DT just played great,” Magic Gaming Head Coach Jonah Edwards said. “He was really up to the task.”

DT set the tone from the start scoring Orlando’s first eight points, but it was his plays down the stretch that proved to be the difference against Minnesota.

In the face of a T-Wolves Gaming surge that cut Magic Gaming’s lead down to four, DT took an ATO set-up from Brendan “Reizey” Hill and slammed it home with 2:47 left in the fourth quarter.

He followed up that sequence with an alley-oop slam off a feed from Cameron “KingCamRoyalty” Ford to help Magic Gaming pull away and complete the sweep of their two-game night.

“It’s a good feeling, but at the same time we feel like we should be 4-0,” DT explained. “We lost both of our first games by a combined five points, a few little tweaks here and there and we’d be 4-0. So, it’s a good feeling to come out and sweep 2-0, but at the same time we feel like we should be undefeated right now.”

Mykel “KelMav” Wilson poured in 11 points, while Reizey added 10 points and six assists.

Magic Gaming’s depth and versatility came in to play as KingCamRoyalty subbed in for Tucker “TuckerLocksUp” Henry, who played an integral role in Orlando’s win over New York, and posted eight points and 13 rebounds.

“It shows that we’re versatile,” DT said. “Before we even came, we knew what lineups we were running. It shows that we have six players that can play. We don’t have five players and a bench player, we have six people who are ready to compete whenever they’re called on.”

On the defensive end of the floor, no player had a bigger impact than Emmanuel “UCMANNY” Cruz, who held Minnesota standout point guard Michael “BearDaBeast” Key to a quiet 2-for-7 night from the floor and helped force him into three turnovers, including a crucial steal with 1:16 left in the fourth.

“Manny is as good as anybody as far as being a pure lockdown defender,” Edwards explained. “He had a couple of huge steals, especially that one late in the game. We call it a fake, he steps forward and then steps back and Bear threw it right at him. Perfect, perfect play.”

They’ll need his defensive intensity next week as Magic Gaming returns to action on Wednesday, May 1, when they face undefeated Pacers Gaming (3-0) at 10 p.m. ET.
